Mont St.Michel is a beautiful place in a romantic country, France. I want to introduce Mont St.Michel, because I have been there with my family in the summer of 2013 and it is very interesting.
History:
First, I want to introduce the history of Mont Saint-Michel. In 709 year, Bishop Aubert built a small church, because he believe Archangel Michel ask he to built, this church build 6 times to make bigger, since 709 to 1421.(Tourisme Office) Up to now, Mont St.Michel is a famous place in France, and also a Catholic pilgrimage. In 1979, UNESCO is turned Mont St.Michel to World Heritage. ”Mont St.Michel was used in the 6th and 7th centuries as a stronghold of Romano-British culture and power until it was sacked by the Franks; thus ending the trans-channel culture that had stood since the departure of the Romans in 459 AD.“(Hayes)

The altitude of mount itself raises from 5 metres to 80 metres above sea level, and the statue at the top of the church is 170 meters above sea level. They visit Mont Saint Michel is order to see the Gothic architecture. Uncommon of the Gothic architecture is a important thing to attract traveler to come to Mont St.Michel.(Tourisme Office)
“The gorgeous and mysterious island of Mont St. Michel rises from the flat and barren landscape like something out of a fairy tale. It's Hogwarts on a mudflat. Across the landscape graze thousands of sheep, known as a local delicacy for their salty meat, a result from eating the grass which has been flooded with salt water. The layers of clouds and flock of birds add a sense of beauty to this surreal landscape.”(Shaw)
